Your tyre size is printed on the sidewall. Look for a combination of numbers and letters like 205/55R16.

Locking wheel nuts are essential for preventing theft. Make sure you:

Keep the locking wheel nut key in a safe place (usually in the glove box or with the spare tyre).
Check that the key matches your wheel nuts before calling for assistance.
Consider getting a spare key to avoid being stranded.

The UK legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm. However, for safety, we recommend replacing tyres when they reach 3mm.

Use the 20p test: Insert a 20p coin into the tread. If the outer band is visible, your tread is below the legal limit.
Check for cracks, bulges, or other damage on the sidewall.
Replace tyres every 5-6 years, regardless of tread depth.

Check your tyre pressure monthly using a pressure gauge. Refer to your vehicle’s manual for the correct PSI.

Consider using winter tyres in colder months for better grip and all-season tyres for year-round performance.

Always check your spare tyre’s condition and pressure. Don’t wait for an emergency to find out it’s flat.
